Handcrafted Wines in Valley Center
Pauma Vista Vineyard is a small, family-owned winery and vineyard located in Valley Center, California. Pete and Vicki Montgomery personally farm their vineyard and focus on Rhone and Spanish varietals that grow well in San Diego County’s warm climate. The winery offers a relaxed tasting patio experience where guests can enjoy locally crafted wines in a scenic vineyard setting.
Family-Owned Vineyard Story
Pete and Vicki’s winemaking journey began in 2007 when they planted a home vineyard and started making wine for family and friends. After years of learning, growing, and refining their craft, they purchased a 7-acre property and planted the vineyard that became Pauma Vista Vineyard. Vicki’s early winemaking earned multiple medals at the San Diego County Fair, including a 2018 Best in Show award for a 2016 Tempranillo Blend.
Rhone & Spanish Varietals
The vineyard focuses on varietals including Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Albariño. Sitting above Pauma Valley at just under 2,000 feet, the property benefits from warm days, cool nights, coastal breezes, and a longer fall harvest season — conditions that help create fuller-bodied wines with ripe fruit flavors.
Tastings, Wine Club & Online Orders
Guests can visit the vineyard tasting patio Friday through Sunday, purchase wines on site, order bottles online where shipping is available, and ask about wine club membership for priority access, special pricing, and member-only events.
